Retroflo were engaged directly by Northumbrian Water Group as Principal Designer and Principal Contractor to increase Hepscott STW storm tank capacity in line with EA Permit 226/1281. The project included the installation of a new storm tank with automatic emptying and mixing, updated instrumentation, and full mechanical and electrical works. The upgrade provides a minimum storm storage volume of 35.5 m³ and ensures effective monitoring and control of storm flows.

Scope of Works

Retroflo provided a full end-to-end service, including:

    • Supply and installation of MCERT inlet flow measuring flume
    • Design, supply and installation of storm returns pump and tank mixer
    • Design, supply and installation of new control panel and kiosk
    • Design, supply and installation of wash water booster set with header
    • Below-ground pipework, reinstatement and landscaping
    • Full mechanical and electrical design and installation
    • Project management and coordination of civils sub-contractor
    • NICEIC 18th Edition testing, commissioning and documentation
    • Full testing and commissioning
    CCM-managed contract
