eoMINI units are designed for installation in both open air or protected environments, with a universal (Type 2) Socket with the Mode 3 charging standard. This model is available with a type 1 tethered lead, a type 2 tethered lead or a 32A 7KW universal socket.

eOLEV sockets are designed for domestic installation and are compatible with the Mode 3 charging standard and suitable for charging all electric cars currently on the market. This model is available with a type 1 tethered lead, a type 2 tethered lead or a 32A 7KW universal socket.

Retroflo have been installing electric vehicle charging points since 2013. We are OLEV approved for both domestic and commercial installations and will claim the grant on the customers behalf if appliciable. Retroflo have a wealth of experience and knowledge of the different makes and models available. The map below (May 2017) shows our install base in the North-east alone, with over 500 sites being installed and commissioned.
Up until August 2014 the UK Governments OLEV Home Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Scheme enabled homeowners a full grant for supply and installation of approved EV chargepoint models. Under new guidelines issued in August 2014 domestic EV charge point grants are now set at a 75% contribution to the cost of one chargepoint and its installation, with a grant cap of £500 per household/eligible vehicle.

Usually the cost of a household charger is in the region of £149-£199 in addition to the £500 grant, depending on which unit is selected. This is on the basis that the current electrical installations is compliant with electrical wiring regulations and matches our installation terms and conditions.
Once your order is placed; a Retroflo engineer will visit your home to undertake a pre-installation survey to check the current electric supply meets regulatory requirements. If all is OK, installation can go ahead. Fitting an EV charger generally takes 2-3 hours.

PROJECT: Supply and Installation of a Domestic Electric Vehicle Charge Point
SCOPE OF WORK:
Survey the domestic property to check electrical compliance. A Retroflo engineer undertook the installation of the Rolec wall-mounted charge point. The 16A 3.6Kw Mode 3 model is one of the most economical charging stations on the market and includes a J1772 (type 1) tethered lead connection gun, holster, pin lock and status LED. Once the engineer was happy that the unit was fully operational, he then undertook handover, instructing the client on using the unit and getting the most from low tariff electricity periods.
