Our Blog

Almost a year on from the launch of Retroflo’s EICA Services division and we’ve made great strides. Since kicking off January with a contract to provide electrical testing and remedial works for a nationwide letting agent, we’ve landed a pump efficiency contract and a framework for electrical testing with a leading water company, become a selected partner of Sunderland City Council and been appointed as an approved installer for the of free home electric vehicle chargers under the UK Government’s ULEV scheme. We even secured the electrical contract for works at a brand new Olympic standard white water canoe course in Glasgow.

Retroflo 2013Throughout the year we’ve been busy with the design, installation and commissioning of pumping stations. It’s a core aspect of our work and it’s been gratifying that clients approach us because they appreciate the experience we bring to projects. During the spring the pump team were in the capital with an interesting bespoke pumping system for a private client, after which they began work to help a leading UK water company save energy thorough pump efficiency tests. Alongside several pumping station projects for clients, such as dentists, nursing homes, construction companies and house builders, perhaps most exciting of our water projects is electrical works for Glasgow’s new white water canoe course. Scheduled for completion in early 2014, the venue will host canoe and kayak events at next year’s Commonwealth Games.

Our partnership with Sunderland City Council began over the summer, with the successful completion of projects at four junior and infant schools. Work at the schools took place during the six-week summer holidays and included extensive replacement and provision of new power and lighting circuits.

In September we were pleased to announce our appointment as an approved installer of free home electric vehicle chargers under the UK Government’s ULEV (Ultra-low Emission Vehicle) scheme. The scheme enables us to supply and install the POD Point Solo 3.6kW charging unit free of charge for homeowners. In the few weeks since launching the service we’ve had over 200 enquiries from homeowners in the north east of England.

We’ve certainly been busy in 2013 and the Directors and staff are looking forward to what 2014 has in store. A major project will be the launch of our new pump controller based on a telemetry system. The all new version of Retroflo’s award winning system has been designed to provide clients with greater flexibility at a reduced cost.

Here’s wishing all our clients a Prosperous New Year!
