We've Sparked a Lot of Interest in Free Electric Vehicle Chargers
Retroflo Press Release
South Hetton based electrical contractor Retroflo this week announced the 300th order for its free domestic electric vehicle charge point installation service. The service, available to homeowners throughout the north east, offers customers the free supply and installation of a government approved domestic EV charger as part of the UK’s ULEV (Ultra-low Emission Vehicle) strategy.
The strategy, launched in September last year, makes available £37m funding to install free charge points in homes with off-road parking across the UK. Retroflo were approved to install EV charge points in November, and since launching the service the company has created six new staff positions to cope with demand as the response has outstripped original expectations.

We've Come a Long Way in 2013
Almost a year on from the launch of Retroflo’s EICA Services division and we’ve made great strides. Since kicking off January with a contract to provide electrical testing and remedial works for a nationwide letting agent, we’ve landed a pump efficiency contract and a framework for electrical testing with a leading water company, become a selected partner of Sunderland City Council and been appointed as an approved installer for the of free home electric vehicle chargers under the UK Government’s ULEV scheme. We even secured the electrical contract for works at a brand new Olympic standard white water canoe course in Glasgow.
Helping to Light Up Christmas
As we enter the festive period the Retroflo team have been getting in the spirit by decking the exterior of South Hetton’s Robin Todd Community Centre in an array of Christmas lights. The company also sponsored the Santa's Grotto, spreading a little joy with presents for the local children at Wednesday’s Christmas Lights Switch On.
